DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?


The ideal candidate will perform Electrical Engineering functions for Construction and Maintenance of a new, state-of-the-art Electric Arc Furnace, Melting, and Casting Facility. He/she will develop and execute Electrical Equipment Maintenance Program to meet the business goals of AM/NS Calvert.



The Basics:


  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • At least 5 years of experience working in electrical maintenance in steelmaking
  • Intermediate computer skills to include SAP and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills working with professionals, operations/maintenance personnel, and construction trades
  • In depth knowledge of Power Distribution Systems, Switchgears and Transformers, NEC and NFPA 70E, and AC/DC drive systems
  • Working experience with STATCOM or SVC
  • Ability to coordinate and execute multiple projects with minimal supervision

  • 10+ years of experience working in electrical maintenance in steelmaking

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:


  1. Participate as part of the Project Team on third party Electrical Maintenance and Construction for the new melt shop. Ensure the new facility is designed for optimal operability and maintenance of Power distribution System
  2. Quality review of construction activities pertaining to Electrical Equipment installation
  3. Development of Equipment Maintenance Program for Electrical Equipment including the Power Distribution System
  4. Technical support for the project management group, from the feasibility study phase to the coordination of the final acceptance tests, ensuring the technical quality, as well as ensuring the correct technical documentation after commissioning or changes
  5. Establish the minimum technical requirements necessary to purchase or modify equipment and/or systems by maintaining technical standards based on national, international or corporate standards, incorporating new technologies whenever necessary
  6. Prepare and present reports and findings by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  7. Observe safety, review accident/incident reports and assist in investigations as required
  8. Lead, support, participate in, and develop improvement programs and project groups
  9. Support management in optimizing quality, cost, reliability, and performance of equipment
  10. Coordinate and direct personnel as required

YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT:


  • Office and Industrial setting in the Steelmaking facility
  • During first 2 years, Construction setting
  • Gulf coast region in Calvert, AL
  • Days, Monday to Friday with extended hours as required due to peariods of peak workloads
  • Traveling may be required for equipment inspections during construction phase
